Polyester filter elements offer greater versatility and can also operate efficiently at temperatures below 100°C. Unlike wood pulp paper, they are suitable for humid environments and can be washed with water, which extends their service life. These elements come in various filtration grades, typically capturing 5-micron particles with over 99% efficiency. While slightly more expensive than wood pulp paper, their durability, water-washable feature, and wide applicability make them ideal for more demanding or variable industrial environments. Industries that deal with fluctuating humidity or require frequent cleaning often benefit the most from polyester filter elements.
Stainless Steel Inlet Filter Elements
Stainless steel filter elements are engineered for extreme industrial conditions, including high temperatures up to 200°C and corrosive environments. Common mesh sizes include 300, 500, and 800 mesh. Although their filtration precision is lower compared to paper or non-woven fabric, they are reusable, easy to clean, and highly durable, providing long-term reliability in demanding operations. The higher cost is offset by their ability to withstand harsh conditions and repeated cleaning cycles, making them suitable for applications where stability, longevity, and consistent filtration performance are critical.
Choosing the appropriate vacuum pump inlet filter element depends on the operating environment, process requirements, and dust characteristics. Wood pulp paper, non-woven fabric, and stainless steel elements each have unique advantages and limitations.
