Standard gas-liquid separators effectively trap liquid contaminants but cannot block water vapor. When operating temperatures or vacuum levels are “high”, most liquid evaporate into vapor. This vapor then enters the vacuum pump, corroding its internal components. The vapor eventually re-condenses into liquid inside the pump—making it appear as though the separator failed (since liquid is present). But the real problem is using the wrong type of separator for the application.
For such applications, a condensing gas-liquid separator is the optimal choice. By integrating a condensation unit with the separator, vapor is cooled and condensed back into liquid - allowing the separator to function effectively again. As shown in the diagram above, our engineered solution combines both separator and condenser into one integrated system, with the added benefit of portability. The unit is designed for easy mobility, requiring only one operator for relocation.This type of gas-liquid separator is customized based on client's specific operational requirements.(We will customize the separator size based on flow rate and drainage volume, and select the appropriately powered chiller according to temperature.) Therefore, as a fully customized solution, this gas-liquid separator is not kept in stock and carries a higher price point. However, when compared to the repair or replacement costs of critical equipment like vacuum pumps, the investment becomes insignificant.
