Three Situations for Inlet Filter Affecting the Vacuum Pressure

A customer feedback that after installing the inlet filter, the vacuum degree could not be achieved, but after removing the inlet assembly, the vacuum degree was achieved as normal. So he asked us what is the cause and whether there is a solution. Sure there is a solution, but we need to find out the reason first. After installing the inlet filter, the vacuum pump cannot reach the required vacuum degree, which is generally caused by the following three reasons:

First, the sealing of the inlet filter is not good or there is a problem with the sealing of the connection. If the vacuum degree still cannot be achieved after we remove the internal filter element, then it can be confirmed that there is a problem with the sealing.

Second, the fineness of filter element is too high, which will affects the pumping speed. In addition, the filter element will gradually be blocked as be used, the vacuum pump will become more and more hard to pump. Therefore, the vacuum degree will become more and more difficult to achieve. If the vacuum degree meets the standard after removing the filter element inside the inlet filter, it means that the filter element precision is too high and the resistance is too high.

Third, the inlet filter is too small to meet the flow rate of vacuum pump. The amount of air that can circulate within a certain period of time is limited, which is related to the diameter and overall size of the filter. If the filter is too small, the vacuum degree will be difficult to meet the standard.

The above three situations are all "problems" with the filter. When we buy filters, we must choose professional manufacturers, buy qualified filters, and choose suitable filter elements according to our own working conditions and requirements.
