The inlet filter of a vacuum pump is an indispensable protective device. It effectively removes contaminants such as dust and moisture from the operating environment, preventing them from entering the pump chamber and damaging critical components like impellers and seals. In many ways, the service life of a vacuum pump depends heavily on whether a high-quality inlet filter is installed.
Inlet filters are typically divided into particulate filters and coalescing filters, and their functions can be adjusted or expanded based on user requirements. Today, LVGE presents a classic custom case.
A customer approached us inquiring about an inlet filter for their vacuum pump. They explained that their production line operates continuously with no allowance for pump shutdown, yet regular filter cleaning was still necessary. After thoroughly understanding the customer’s needs, we quickly provided a solution: the In-Service Switchable Dual-Vessel Inlet Filter .
This product is specifically designed for applications where the vacuum pump cannot be stopped. It consists of two large vessels (filter housings) connected in parallel, each housing a large filter element. The two vessels are connected via a changeover valve. During normal operation, one vessel is activated first. When the filter element inside becomes clogged with dust, causing a drop in pumping speed, the operator can simply operate the changeover valve to close the active vessel and switch to the other vessel — all while the vacuum pump continues running. With the second vessel in operation, the first vessel can be safely and conveniently removed for cleaning or maintenance.
This switchable design allows the inlet filter to be maintained without shutting down the vacuum pump, ensuring uninterrupted production line operation. It also prevents vacuum degradation and pumping speed loss caused by filter clogging.
Product Advantages:
- Two large vessels connected in parallel for flexible and easy switching
- Enables filter maintenance without stopping the vacuum pump, enhancing production continuity
- Each vessel contains a large filter element with high dust-holding capacity and long service life
- Prevents performance loss caused by filter clogging
- Suitable for high-dust, continuous-duty, and other demanding applications
LVGE is committed to providing efficient and reliable vacuum pump filtration solutions for a wide range of complex operating conditions. The In-Service Switchable Dual-Vessel Inlet Filter is a prime example of how we respond to real customer needs and drive product innovation.
