Vacuum Application in the Packaging Process of Lithium Battery Industry
Vacuum packaging is an important part of the lithium battery production. It refers to completing the packaging in vacuum. What is the point of doing this? Assembling the battery and packaging in vacuum can avoid oxidation caused by the presence of oxygen inside the battery. Therefore, vacuum packaging can ensure the safety and stability of the battery.
During this part, staff place battery chips, diaphragm, electrode plates and other components into a vacuum chamber and assemble these components one by one. Then, they will complete the first packaging. After that they will inject electrolyte.To avoid air entering during the liquid injection process, this process is also carried out in a vacuum environment. After allowing the electrolyte to stand a while, they will complete the second packaging.
In the packaging, staff will cut the outer shell to the appropriate size, which will produce some powder. At the same time, the vacuum pump will run continuously to maintain the vacuum state of the vacuum chamber. Conceivably, the powder will be sucked into the pump. Thus, we have to equip powder filter to protect the vacuum pump. In fact, during the production of lithium batteries, workpieces are transported to next part through vacuum suction cups or robotic arms. The powder filter can also prevent the powder from being sucked into the vacuum pump during transportation.
Additionally, during the injection process, too much electrolyte may be injected, which can easily be sucked into the vacuum pump. Therefore, we also need a gas-liquid separator to protect the vacuum pump.
