What is the difference between rotary vane pump and slide valve pump?

The slide valve pump can not only be used alone as rotary vane pumps do, but also can be used as a front stage pump. Additionally, it is more durable. Therefore, the slide valve pump is widely used in the vacuum field, such as vacuum crystallization, vacuum coating, vacuum metallurgy and vacuum heat treatment. Nowadays, most vacuum pump manufacturers use medium and small rotary vane pumps, medium and large slide valve pumps.

In terms of maintenance, attention should be paid not to let particles and other impurities enter the vacuum pump. These impurities can get stuck in the rotor groove of the rotary vane pump or emulsify the vacuum pump oil of the slide valve pump. So, if you are also using these two types of pumps, especially there are many particles in the working environment, it is recommended to install an intake filter. It can effectively prevent particles from being sucked into the vacuum pump. Pay attention to selecting the appropriate intake filter based on the particles size and the pumping speed of the pump.

Many people know that slide valve pumps can be divided into single-stage pumps and two-stage pumps. But few people know that they also have the distinction of single cylinder, double cylinder and triplex cylinder. The more cylinders there are, the less vibration and the higher the rotational speed the slide valve pump has. By the way, the vibration of the slide valve pump is much smaller than that of the rotary vane pump, so its noise is smaller. But the noise cannot be completely avoided. We can use of a vacuum pump silencer to reduce it greatly.

LVGE have been focusing on the field of vacuum filtration for over 10 years, and is developing vacuum pump silencers to address more customer pain points.
