Methods for Maintaining Rotary Vane Vacuum Pump

Methods for Maintaining Rotary Vane Vacuum Pump

As the most basic oil-sealed vacuum pump, rotary vane vacuum pump is widely used. However, do you know the maintenance methods of rotary vane vacuum pumps well enough? This article will share some knowledge about it with you.

First of all, we should check the oil level and whether the oil is polluted regularly. And it is best to carry out once a week. If the oil is lower than the normal oil level, it is necessary to stop the vacuum pump and add the oil to the appropriate level. If the oil level is higher, it is also necessary to reduce. When observing the oil level, we should pay attention to whether there is thickening, emulsification, or foreign matter mixing in the oil. If so, we have to replace the oil in time, and check whether the intake filter is blocked. What’s more, remember to clean the vacuum pump before adding new oil.

When the rotary vane vacuum pump is running, we should need to pay attention to whether there are any of the following situations: the temperature of the vacuum pump rises significantly; the motor current exceeds the rated current; and there is smoke at the exhaust port. If any of the above situations occur, it is usually due to the blockage of the oil mist filter. Just replace it in time if it is blocked. Tips: Installing a pressure gauge is helpful to judge.

As the saying goes, “it's best only when it fits you”. Here, LVGE reminds everyone that in addition to a suitable oil, suitable intake and exhaust filters can also extend the service life of vacuum pump, improve its performance, and save costs for you. If you don't know what is suitable, please feel free to contact us. LVGE has more than 10 years of experience in the filtration solution.
